Cassatt Corp. has joined the VMware Technology
Alliance Program. With this technology alliance, Cassatt will optimize
its flagship product Collage with VMware ESX Server, virtual
infrastructure software for partitioning, consolidating, and managing
servers in mission-critical environments. In addition, Cassatt and
VMware plan to provide cooperative support for joint customers.
Integrating Cassatt Collage with VMware virtual infrastructure will
enable customers to gain additional benefits from the goal-driven
automation and management available in the Cassatt Collage platform.
The Cassatt Collage platform software provides service-level
automation -- a way for IT departments to get the most from their
virtualization efforts, while maintaining the service level agreements
they have made for their applications. In conjunction with VMware
virtual infrastructure, the Cassatt software handles load spikes and
ensures applications run despite hardware failures, all without human
intervention. Cassatt can help IT departments roll out new applications
more quickly by making better use of the hardware and software
organizations already have.
"We are excited to have Cassatt become a member of the VMware
Technology Alliance Program," said Dan Chu, senior director of
technology alliances and developer products for VMware. "The VMware
Technology Alliance Program offers Cassatt the tools and resources they
need to ensure the Cassatt Collage platform fully optimizes for VMware
products and addresses the needs of our joint customers."

But in Terracotta’s network-attached memory pool, everything can be massively scaled out.

A somewhat neglected aspect of the current financial crisis is the huge spike in trading volumes in recent days. In some cases, they have raised to more than double the average of the months (and years) that preceded the crisis. Systems, of course, don't care if stocks are going up or down; they just need to handle the transactions. Cloud computing can help ensure they meet this task.
