MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., June 23 -- SOASTA, the leading provider of cloud-based testing solutions, today announced support for the Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2). A Web testing solution built on the cloud to enable application testing in the cloud, SOASTA CloudTest for EC2 allows developers to easily and affordably turn the Amazon cloud into a Virtual Test Lab for load and performance testing of their applications.
"Amazon EC2 is an ideal environment for developers to test their applications," said Steve Rabuchin, director of developer relations and business development for Amazon Web Services. "We're pleased to see the SOASTA Cloud Test for EC2 option become available to developers."
SOASTA CloudTest for Amazon EC2 provides engineers with a 24x7x365 Web application test lab at their fingertips. The combination of a scalable hardware architecture with leading edge Web testing technology enables the testing of every layer of a Web application or service. It delivers immediate value, scales seamlessly up or down with testing needs, and does not require investment in a cost prohibitive testing infrastructure. SOASTA CloudTest for Amazon EC2 natively supports every testing type including Load, Performance, Functional, and Web UI/Ajax.
"Load and performance testing is the 'killer application' for cloud computing," said Tom Lounibos, CEO of SOASTA. "Companies can very easily create a real-world test environment without having to invest in it. Developers have virtually unlimited and affordable access to servers, memory, storage, etc. and can, essentially on demand, simulate load and performance tests for tens of thousands of users without having to purchase the hardware."
Why SOASTA CloudTest for Amazon EC2 is uniquely different:
Here's what a few leading edge Web companies that have been using SOASTA CloudTest for Amazon EC2 for the past few months are saying:
Peter Yared, CEO of iWidgets, stated, "Testing in the virtual world provides us with the closest view of how our application will perform in production. SOASTA's leading edge design enables us to leverage cloud computing to achieve an overall better quality test experience. SOASTA is quickly becoming the Mercury Interactive of cloud computing."
John Crupi, CTO at leading mashup solution provider, Jackbe, said, "We needed an affordable solution to test tens of thousands of users interacting with solutions built on our product. To build this type of test environment was just too expensive. With SOASTA CloudTest for Amazon EC2 I can leverage the cloud to deliver a test environment that inexpensively cuts my testing time in half."
SOASTA CloudTest for Amazon EC2 will be commercially available on July 15. Pricing starts at $4 per SOASTA instance per hour. Monthly and annual service plans are available.
