Amazon.com CTO to Keynote at OGF23

The Open Grid Forum (OGF) announced the addition of Dr. Werner Vogels, CTO of Amazon.com, to its roster of exceptional OGF23 (June 2-6 in Barcelona, Spain) keynotes. Other speakers include Les Robertson from CERN and Mario Campolargo from the European Commission.  Vogels will present on Tuesday afternoon, June 3, along with Diego Pavia, CEO of ATOS Origin Iberia, as part of the joint keynote to kick-off the BEinGRID Industry Days event, co-located with OGF23. 

In addition to an attractive list of keynotes, other highlights of the OGF23/BEinGRID program include:

  • Numerous demonstrations of real-world applications of grid in a wide range of sectors including finance, supply chain management, media, leisure and environmental sciences.
  • Workshops on commercial implementations of workflow, using grid to optimize energy efficiency, dynamic service level agreements, and a host of other relevant topics.
  • Sessions focused on quality in open source grid implementations, data grids, interoperability between production research grids, and cloud computing.
  • OGF chartered groups will meet to advance grid specifications, develop best practices, increase OGF specification adoption and explore new access paradigms for grid users.
  • OGF-Europe will host a full-day seminar on how grids enable Digital Repositories and multiple tutorials on implementing grid middleware and building grids that manage distributed data.
  • A poster gallery and an exhibition area.
