ELASTRA Previewing Cloud Server On-Demand

SAN FRANCISCO, May 2 -- Elastra Corp., the leading provider of software for designing, deploying, and managing complete application systems in public and private compute clouds, today announced the availability of the Elastra Cloud Server On-Demand - Preview Release.

The Elastra Cloud Server On-Demand enables Enterprise IT, SaaS/ISVs and Web-based companies to launch clustered, dynamically scalable application systems quickly and easily in publicly available computing environments such as the Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2). The first application components supported are relational databases, with web servers, application servers and other industry-standard infrastructure software components to be added later this year.

Elastras products help our company configure, deploy and manage the infrastructure we need so that we can concentrate on our product, PayGo SaaS. Knowing that we can launch servers and clusters with ease, and scale our IT operations at any time, has allowed our company to focus on what we do best, and thats building solutions for independent retailers, said Laura Haapala-Peterson, co-founder of Christian James Inc., a provider of retail point-of-sale business systems.

We are pleased to see companies like Elastra further enable enterprise-class applications to be architected, deployed, scaled and managed in our leading, Web-scale computing platform, said Steve Rabuchin, director of developer relations and business development for Amazon Web Services.

Elastra has gained significant traction with customers from many walks of life: Web 2.0 companies, ISVs, and Enterprise IT. Overall, we have had great response to our first product set and component offering, the on-demand cloud server and RDBMS component, and our approach to cloud computing. Customers do want turn-key, scalable, on-demand systems. Customers do understand that software that makes cloud computing useful is not just a bunch of scripts that launch machines, but is, instead a tapestry of software components that bring the benefits of virtualization to their entire application stack, said Kirill Sheynkman, president and CEO of ELASTRA.

Elastra Cloud Server On-Demand benefits include:

  • Simplifying the complex and manual process of configuring, deploying, scaling and managing clustered, dynamically-scalable application systems.
  • Automating system scaling, monitoring and management to allow company personnel to focus on building applications and serving customers.
  • Speeding time-to-market by reducing time to acquire and configure application systems from months to minutes.
  • Improving cash-flow and working capital due to meter-based pricing and zero upfront costs.

ELASTRAS Cloud Server On-Demand offering is based on a metered, pay-per-use software pricing model. The product is currently open for general availability.
