NEW YORK, March 25 -- MRG-International (MRGI), makers of the MuseWorx Marketing Operating System, has just released a new component of its cloud computing system for marketing services automation in response to a survey of marketing professionals. The service is called Instant Share, and it's available to MuseWorx users as a foolproof workaround for one of the industry's most vexing problems, digital file sharing and collaboration.
MRGI recently conducted a survey of 400 marketing communications professionals in 77 countries regarding file sharing and collaboration issues. The results were surprising: Of those surveyed, 87 percent share files through e-mail or FTP every month, and 49 percent do so several times a week. Surprisingly, 92 percent experience file sharing problems, with 66 percent reporting problems on a regular basis.
“The results of the survey were shocking,” says David Fritsche, chairman of MRG-International. “At a time when I can watch TV or surf the web on my cell phone, it's surprising that professionals can't quickly and reliably share files.”
Fritsche says that MRGI estimates businesses in the marketing services field lose billions in productivity every year due to file sharing issues.
“We developed MuseWorx as a way to automate many marketing processes and avoid costly and time-consuming headaches for the advertising and marketing industry,” Fritsche continues. “MuseWorx takes advantage of the recent strides in cloud computing and Web 2.0 business practices to boost productivity and remove this as a concern for every stakeholder in the marketing communications field.”
According to the survey, the single biggest problem is loss of productivity, followed by clients experiencing frustration with file sharing issues. e-mail limitations were the number one cause of problems, with FTP confusion and challenges ranked as the second most common issue. Of respondents, 54 percent say they endangered client relationships because of frustrations with transferring files.
The newly introduced MuseWorx Instant Share feature is designed to tap the advantages of cloud computing and apply it directly to the file sharing issue. It's a free component of the MuseWorx OS that makes it simple, easy and bulletproof to transfer large files without e-mail system limitations or ftp reliance. Marketing communication companies, media companies, creative suppliers and marketers can use MuseWorx Instant Share to make sure their partners never have to devote time and money to fixing FTP and e-mail problems again.
The Instant Share is yet another example of the kind of “generational change” resulting from the widespread adoption of cloud computing that's described by author and strategist Nicholas Carr in his new book "The Big Switch: Rewiring the world, from Edison to Google." MRGI has been applying the intelligence and automation of the cloud computing model to the marketing industry since 2005. “Providing file transfer automation is one more step into intelligent productivity enhancements that will save the advertising and marketing industry billions,” says Fritsche.
MuseWorx is the world's first marketing operating system that provides complete marketing automation solutions, including for file sharing. MuseWorx was designed specifically for advertisers, ad agencies, interactive agencies, design firms, marketing and promotion agencies and the entire field of creative suppliers who work for them, as well as ancillary marketing-related service providers such as stock photo houses, film and video production companies, photographers, printers, web publishers, etc. The system takes advantage of advancements in cloud computing and broadband access to provide seamless integration of key applications for digital and media asset management, file sharing, collaboration, approval, storage and archiving, with connectivity to a host of advanced marketing automation technologies and third-party resources.

Burned to some degree by the confusion surrounding grid computing, many vendors have drastically cut the term from their marketing strategies. As a result, these vendors are not so quick to latch onto cloud computing.
