3Tera Enables Largest Virtual Private Datacenter
LAS VEGAS, June 20 -- 3Tera Inc., the leading innovator of grid computing and utility computing services for online applications, and Layered Technologies, the leading provider of next-generation, self-managed utility computing and hosting solutions, announced today that they will demonstrate the world’s largest virtual private datacenter for powering Web 2.0 and SaaS applications.
Featuring HP hardware and 3Tera’s award-winning AppLogic grid operating system, the virtual private datacenter allows 460 processors, 920GB RAM and 47TB of storage to be harnessed for application deployment and operation with just a browser. Web 2.0 and SaaS companies can now easily afford to scale capacity as their business grows. Layered Technologies and 3Tera will showcase this high-powered solution at LT PACT in Las Vegas and will provide a live online demonstration via webinar at 9 a.m. PST on June 27.
A virtual private datacenter is the utility computing solution for operating SaaS and Web 2.0 applications. It eliminates the need for datacenter co-location, private racks and managed hosting services by enabling users to assemble, deploy, monitor and manage all their infrastructure and applications using only a browser.
