BEAVERTON, Ore., June 4 -- GemStone Systems, the leading provider of distributed data management and virtualization solutions, and ObjectWave, provider of enterprise-level object-oriented systems, today announced a strategic partnership to deliver advanced data cache functionality and distributed data sharing to improve application speed and scalability.
The joint offering will combine GemFire Enterprise's distributed data infrastructure with JGrinderX, a next-generation persistence and data caching framework. The enhanced data sharing capabilities will improve high-performance mainframe operations for ObjectWave's existing client base. The alliance also will establish ObjectWave as an authorized GemStone reseller providing technical training, consulting, implementation and application development services.
GemFire Enterprise is a high-performance, distributed data caching platform that serves as the core component of the GemFire Enterprise Data Fabric (EDF). It supports multiple topologies that allow it to be easily embedded into application architectures such as J2EE, .NET, grid, SOA and portals, and can provide high-performance throughput and scalability at significantly lower costs. Proven in mission-critical programs in financial services, telecommunications, energy, logistics and federal programs, GemFire Enterprise is built on one of the industry's fastest and most reliable data distribution and caching systems.
By integrating JGrinderX with GemFire Enterprise, firms can enable low-latency, predictable, high-throughput data sharing and real-time event distribution by virtually fusing individual network machines into a single data management unit. GemFire's distributed data caching harnesses memory and disk resources across networks to minimize the need to access the database.
"As global businesses and trading markets rely heavily on distributed systems to deliver synchronized data sharing functions, it is vital that applications be able to quickly access and transmit data with minimal latency," said Sam Cinquegrani, president of ObjectWave. "By integrating GemFire Enterprise with JGrinderX we can maximize and aggregate data distribution output without inundating our servers or using the database as a primary mechanism for managing business transactions."
"High-performance frameworks like JGrinderX can access and distribute data regardless of the application development language," said Juan Menendez, senior vice president at GemStone Systems. "GemFire Enterprise employs advanced data serialization components that eliminate the need for application servers to load passive data each time it is requested from the database. As a result, organizations can leverage superior interoperability and low-latency functionality to accelerate computing power."
