GemStone Unveils Gemfire with Native C++ and .Net Support

BEAVERTON, OR, February 14, 2007 -- GemStone Systems, the leading provider of the Enterprise Data Fabric, today launched GemFire Enterprise 5.0.1 with support for native C++ and .NET clients. The GemFire native clients address the growing demand for highly performant, low latency, heterogeneous language access to distributed data solutions within the enterprise.

GemFire Enterprise with native C++ and .NET clients is designed to address the growing demand for heterogeneous client access to the GemFire Enterprise Data Fabric (EDF). It eliminates the need to deploy a Java Virtual Machine on an application client or employ wrappers when sharing data between C++ and Java. GemStone is the only data caching solution provider to offer native C++ and .NET clients that can interact directly with a distributed data cache.

"Java, C++ and .NET applications are deployed in environments where performance and throughput are critical. These applications must be able to quickly access and share distributed data regardless of the application development language," said Jags Ramnarayan, chief architect, GemStone Systems. "In addition to providing a highly performant, heterogeneous distributed data solution, GemFire Enterprise delivers an advanced data serialization framework that allows users to access and share data regardless of language, delivering superior interoperability coupled with maximum performance."

GemFire Enterprise provides a high-performance, distributed operational data store that drives real-time operations across distributed locations. Designed specifically to meet the demanding performance and scalability requirements of advanced J2EE, grid, SOA and OLTP applications, GemFire Enterprise provides a high-performance, distributed operational data store that enables real-time operations across distributed locations. By enabling applications to scale transparently, it guarantees operational reliability while preventing single points of failure and managing exceptions without widespread impact.
