Merlin, AmberPoint To Implement SOAs For Government Agencies
Merlin Technical Solutions announced that they have entered into a reseller
agreement with AmberPoint, a provider of service-oriented architecture (SOA)
management solutions. The combination of Merlin and AmberPoint solutions and
services provides a powerful answer for government agencies that want to make
use of SOA. The partnership is resulting in mission-critical SOA
implementations that enable government agencies to better integrate their
systems and reduce costs.
"Although there has been much talk about Web services and SOA by many
companies, only AmberPoint and Merlin are actually selling these solutions
into leading government agencies and helping implement these solutions into
production use," said David Phelps, president and CEO of Merlin. "We're
working with two large agencies of the U.S. Department of Defense, where our
manageable SOA implementations will serve as examples of how other government
agencies can benefit from such loosely coupled, standards-based systems."
AmberPoint is the leading provider of SOA management software. With its
modular, distributed architecture, AmberPoint radically simplifies the
management and evolution of Web services-based business solutions.
"Due to the number of disparate systems they must integrate, government
agencies have much to gain from the use of standards-based, services-oriented
systems," said John Hubinger, AmberPoint CEO. "Our partnership with Merlin
enables us to provide federal accounts with not only the most comprehensive
management solutions but also the industry-specific services necessary to gain
the greatest benefit from these loosely coupled systems. AmberPoint and Merlin
are leading the SOA space in delivering enterprise-class SOA solutions to
large government agencies."
Working together, Merlin and AmberPoint have had two recent successes with the
Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) and the Department of Defense United
States Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM). Winning these important public
sector clients illustrates that Merlin and AmberPoint are at the vanguard of
implementing SOA applications for government agencies, and are now assisting
their federal clients in taking their Web services into production.
