Access Distribution, BEA Systems Enter Value-Added Relationship

Access Distribution and BEA Systems announced a new distribution relationship. Access Distribution also announced it is expanding its business into the Enterprise Applications Software Market by creating a practice area dedicated to serving this growing market and signing up BEA as its first vendor.

With the new relationship, Access Distribution has agreed to offer the award- winning BEA WebLogic Enterprise Platform, as well as its supporting maintenance, service and education programs to newly recruited authorized resellers throughout the United States and Canada. The BEA WebLogic platform is an industry-leading SOA framework designed to help businesses leverage IT assets, speed services delivery, and increase adaptability.

"Expansion of our North American VAR channel is very significant to BEA, as enterprise resellers become more focused on providing application infrastructure software solutions to their customers," said Bobby Napiltonia, vice president of global alliances for BEA Systems. "We are very excited about our new agreement with Access Distribution, which is important to helping us successfully reach and enable new VAR partners, particularly with respect to the enterprise and mid-markets."

The BEA enterprise infrastructure product family can complement the existing products and services offered through Access Distribution's Sun Business and Enterprise Solutions Groups, which in turn can help BEA reach its targeted customer base. BEA also provides a strategic platform for Access Distribution to leverage as the company moves into the Enterprise Applications Software market space.

"By extending our business into the application software market and signing up a market-leading enterprise software company such as BEA, we can help provide new growth opportunities to our VAR customers," said Grant Hunter, vice president of the Enterprise Solutions Group at Access Distribution. "In addition, building a relationship with BEA can help further our overall corporate strategy to continue to offer best-of-breed products and grow our business through this and other new vendor initiatives."

BEA provides the enterprise software foundation for more than 15,000 customers around the world, including the majority of the Fortune Global 500. Companies turn to BEA to help them evolve their existing enterprise software applications from inflexible, redundant, legacy architectures to highly responsive, mature Web infrastructures.

Access Distribution has appointed Mike Koprowski as the director of Enterprise Application Software to manage the newly formed group. He will also continue to oversee the Enterprise Storage Group.
