Qlusters Announces SEMPRE Management Platform

Qlusters Inc announced SEMPRE, a comprehensive server management platform that delivers the benefits of utility computing to the enterprise. SEMPRE allows IT to manage their datacenter at a lower cost, improve server utilization and meet high availability goals -- ultimately delivering the ability to adapt to customers' needs in real-time.

"Organizations implementing dynamic IT need systems which help them both lower their overall costs and prove real business value," said Dan Kusnetzky, program vice president of system software at IDC. "Provisioning resources for multiple applications to meet pre-established levels of service dynamically is an important component of dynamic IT."

"Cost pressures and quality of service requirements are driving CIOs to be more innovative in how they structure the delivery of their services. The new wave of virtualization technologies promises to minimize over-spending on unused capacity, while allowing dynamic provisioning of available resources to achieve higher levels of availability and service," says Bill Malik, vice president of technology research for Aberdeen Group.

"Today's competitive market requires companies to deliver on the utility computing vision," said Tom Gallivan, vice president of worldwide sales at Rackable Systems. "Qlusters is clearly a leader in delivering an innovative, robust management solution for the Linux datacenter."

SEMPRE is the only management platform in the industry that combines the most crucial components of a complete utility computing model: virtualization, provisioning and high availability. SEMPRE, allows IT organizations to:

  • Virtualize IT environments by decoupling applications from system resources, improving server utilization and allowing immediate resource re-allocation.
  • Automate application provisioning, ensuring that high availability thresholds and quality of service goals are consistently met.
  • Provide high availability to mission-critical applications on Linux, leveraging IT investments in standardization.

SEMPRE advanced virtualization capabilities allow all datacenter resources to be shared and reallocated in real-time. Many applications can share the same server and many servers can process the workload of one application. This unique flexibility allows datacenter managers to most effectively use their compute resources, dramatically increase server utilization and improve operational agility.

By constantly monitoring application and hardware environments, SEMPRE identifies failing systems and will preemptively failover hardware and applications, reducing unplanned downtime. In addition, SEMPRE Instant Application Failover is the industry's only solution that fails over stateful applications in less than 10 seconds, making the migration of mission critical applications to Linux a reality.

"Our customers are tasked with implementing multiple technologies to achieve utility computing, and look to Qlusters to provide the most comprehensive server management platform in the market," said David Martin, chairman and CEO of Qlusters. "With SEMPRE, IT organizations can now achieve full server utilization and provide their enterprise with a dependable, adaptable and affordable solution."
