FileNet Announces Support For Microsoft Visual Studio .NET 2003
FileNet Corp, a provider of Enterprise Content Management (ECM) solutions,
announced its FileNet P8 3.0 platform offers support for Microsoft Web
Services Enhancements (WSE) 2.0, which helps to simplify the development of
secure XML Web Services, enabling customers and partners to develop and deploy
customized applications.
Microsoft WSE 2.0 is part of Microsoft Visual Studio .NET 2003 and is
integrated within the .NET Framework, enabling Windows developers to easily
build secure XML Web Services based on the latest Web Services protocol
specifications.
Support for XML Web Services and Visual Studio .NET enables FileNet to support
customers that are moving to adopt Service Oriented Architectures (SOA), a new
application development paradigm that enables businesses to leverage
best-in-class software services through open industry standards, simplifying
application development and integration. XML Web Services makes it easier to
integrate content and process management capabilities into business
applications, while streamlining development time, increasing productivity,
reducing costs, and helping customers and partners maximize their return on
investment.
"Microsoft has been recognized as a leader in enabling the development of
applications based on industry standard XML Web Services," said Dan Whelan,
chief technology officer for FileNet. "Visual Studio .NET is our preferred
development environment for Microsoft customers and developers."
"FileNet support for the WSE 2.0 will enable the company's customers to create
innovative applications that incorporate advanced Web Services capabilities
such as end-to-end security," said Rebecca Dias, Web Services product manager
for Developer and Platform Evangelism at Microsoft Corporation. "Microsoft's
partner ecosystem, which consists of more than 20,000 independent software
vendors, can now use Visual Studio .NET to build customized solutions that
take advantage of FileNet's content, process and connectivity capabilities."
