Crescendo Solution Powers InTouch Blade Computing Environment
Crescendo Networks Ltd announced it has become a member of the InTouch.Net
global partner network organization. As part of the agreement, independent
Communication Service Provider InTouch plans to implement Crescendo Networks'
Maestro platform and CN-5000E Series solution to support a new blade computing
environment throughout its Amsterdam facilities in The Netherlands. The
Crescendo Maestro solution is designed to remove, control and localize network
protocol burdens across the entire application delivery chain to enable
business-critical applications with enhanced performance, predictability and
reliability.
As part of its Maestro implementation, InTouch plans to replace its legacy
network infrastructure with a high-density blade environment and heavy
utilization of clustering technology. Through this migration InTouch will
achieve greater flexibility of service deployment and increased performance
while executing a utility computing model to enable new offerings such as
collaboration, unified messaging and application level services.
"Crescendo's Maestro platform will be easily integrated into our
infrastructure and will power our servers with the capabilities to achieve
peak performance along with maximum end-user experiences," said Rager Ossel,
CEO of InTouch. "Through our partnership with Crescendo Networks, InTouch.Net
will bring faster service delivery and greater flexibility to our customers
while supporting our strategic shift to a cluster computing model."
Established in 1994 in Amsterdam, InTouch provides tailor-made communication
solutions for specific customer requirements, from the initial stages of
design to implementation and operational management of network infrastructures
and systems.
These implementations are part of the InTouch Grid, lending them flexibility
and on-demand resources whenever customers need it.
InTouch.Net provides InTouch and its partners with a solid foundation and
building blocks to combine and integrate products and service elements to
create customized solutions for enterprise and service provider customers.
Through InTouch.Net, InTouch offers a total solution that can combine any
number of service elements, from network infrastructure to co-location and
Internet services to applications.
"We are pleased to be a part of the InTouch.Net global network. By leveraging
the Maestro platform as part of its strategic infrastructure shift toward
highly flexible and efficient computing, InTouch gains tremendous benefits
that translate to greater customer and partner value," said Yaron Danieli,
vice president of business development at Crescendo Networks. "Facilitating
optimal performance and efficiency along the entire application delivery
chain, the Maestro platform helps meet the heightened resource demands created
by blade and cluster environments."
Crescendo Networks' Maestro platform and CN-5000E Series provide a complete
front-end and back-end solution with true TCP termination, SSL offload, data
compression and a high-speed interconnect fabric. With a direct Remote Direct
Memory Access (RDMA) interface, the Maestro platform allows all layers of an
application to be deployed over a single, unified fabric so that all available
nodes and their resources can be utilized for blade computing technology.
Additionally, the Maestro platform optimally manages multiple RDMA connections
to provide performance enhancements so that cluster-based applications no
longer require traditional load balancers. This holistic approach reduces the
capacity required to deliver core application services while enabling the
capacity and flexibility to cost-effectively support a utility computing
model.
