PRIMA ANNOUNCES RELEASE OF SOFTWARE FOUNDATION FOR SOAs

Prima Solutions announced the forthcoming availability of Prima Platform 4.0, the latest release of the company's software foundation which simplifies and accelerates the development of service-oriented insurance applications.

Version 4.0 reinforces the key features required to implement a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) in an insurance organization available in version 3.1 and delivers an extended set of functionalities improving its effectiveness and usability. Prima Platform delivers insurance organizations with the sole standards-based software foundation 100 percent dedicated to the Insurance industry ensuring a rapid and secure implementation of SOA principles.

"Insurance organizations worldwide are quickly maturing in their understanding of the benefits of SOA to secure core business efficiency improvements and facilitate gradual legacy systems transformations. They therefore value the proposition of a powerful and proven software enablement foundation, 100 percent dedicated to insurance, to support the development of their new service-oriented process-enabled business applications," said Xavier Boileau, executive vice president of product strategy at Prima Solutions. "Prima Platform has been designed from day one to serve that purpose. It remains to date the sole standards-based software foundation solely dedicated to the rapid and secure enablement of the SOA vision in the Insurance industry."

"To design Prima Platform 4.0 we have relied on extensive feed-backs received from customers and prospects," added Fadel Hachem, executive vice president of product delivery at Prima Solutions. "We have therefore ensured that this new version includes improved key SOA-enablement features delivered in earlier versions as well as a host of new capabilities increasing Prima Platform's effectiveness and usability in the delivery of the service-oriented insurance applications required by insurance organizations."

Prima Platform 4.0 delivers in a single coherent software foundation the key features required to implement service-oriented insurance applications: real-time systems integration; unified insurance semantic model; unified services repository; business services orchestration; process management; and portal infrastructure, and introduces an extended business studio, a unified services management framework, support for JSR 168, enhanced complex business process management capabilities, a real-time process simulator enabling developers to instantly validate process definitions as well as improved developer's productivity.

Prima Platform 4.0 includes seven integrated modules:
