Systems/Enterprise:
BLUE TITAN GAINS MOMENTUM AS SOA INFRASTRUCTURE FOR FORTUNE 500
Blue Titan Software announced a record quarter, with six customer deployments,
comprising new Fortune 500 customers and augmented customer licenses, for a
300 percent gain in revenues over last year. The financial results and
customers, which include Citigroup, Pfizer and Overture Services Inc, further
validate the Blue Titan Enterprise SOA Fabric as the leading solution for
Fortune 500 firms deploying service-oriented architectures.
"Blue Titan is gaining phenomenal momentum among leading SOA adopters in a
variety of industries, including financial services, life sciences and
Internet services. These companies recognize that strategic SOA adoption
requires the right architectural approach," said Glenn Hasen, president and
CEO of Blue Titan. "The increased demand for our technology has translated
into the best quarter in our history, and gives us great visibility into a
very strong year-end."
Enterprise-wide deployments of Blue Titan demonstrate the growing conviction
among world-class IT organizations that SOA is the ideal architecture to meet
the consistent changes in today's business climate. Blue Titan's Network
Director is uniquely designed from the ground-up to leverage SOAs as a
distributed services network, enabling enterprise architects to scale reliable
sharing and reuse of services across lines of business, systems and
geographies.
"Blue Titan provides Citigroup the shared control infrastructure for us to
develop enterprise applications using SOA," said Hans Gyllstrom, senior vice
president of technology and architecture at Citigroup. "Blue Titan provides
the capabilities for Citigroup to develop shared business and technical
services and effectively manage the SOA distributed environment."
In other news, Blue Titan announced the appointment of Sam Ramji to the
position of vice president, Customer Strategy. Ramji will leverage his
knowledge as an SOA practitioner and strategist to ensure that enterprise
architects who select Blue Titan remain on the leading edge of SOA adoption.
Prior to Blue Titan, Ramji spent three years at BEA Systems in a variety of
roles, including product strategist for QuickSilver, BEA's SOA initiative;
technical market strategist for BEA WebLogic Integration; and Web services
evangelist. Prior to BEA, Ramji was director of engineering at Ofoto, the
leading digital photo service, which was acquired by Eastman Kodak in May
2001.
