ORACLE GRID CONTROL EXTENDS ADMIN, MGMT OF ENTERPRISE GRIDS
Oracle has taken steps to streamline the management of complex enterprise Grid
computing environments with the release of the HP OpenView Smart Plug-In for
Oracle Enterprise Manager 10g.
The integration between HP OpenView and Oracle Enterprise Manager 10g Grid
Control (Oracle Grid Control) enables IT departments to use the core
competencies of both products to maximize utilization across its systems.
Users can anticipate improved system availability and performance in even the
most complex IT environments and Grids. Oracle Grid Control offers advanced
application and service level monitoring, performance management and
provisioning for Oracle environments. HP OpenView provides an underlying
framework to monitor, manage and provision operating systems, hardware and
networks.

Integration between HP OpenView and Oracle Enterprise Manager
The plug-in enables administrators to monitor critical Oracle Application
Server, Oracle Database and Oracle E-Business Suite metrics, providing
notification of events, warnings and alerts from within the HP OpenView
console, and correlate that information with system level behavior. In
addition, the combined solution proactively identifies all issues related to
the entire Oracle technology stack and offers problem resolution tools to
minimize issues capable of impacting availability or performance. Not only are
administrators informed of potential IT issues, but they can access real-time
and historical system information that will allow them to optimize their
Oracle environment running on HP platforms.
