Abrahams To Lead Expanded Engineering Efforts At Blue Titan
Blue Titan Software announced the addition of Larry Abrahams to its seasoned
management team in the position of senior vice president of product
development and engineering. Abrahams, a 24-year veteran of the software
industry, has been closely involved in the development of seminal software and
Internet platforms and products at Sun and Apple, and was a member of the team
that developed Prodigy, the original consumer on-line service.
Abrahams will lead Blue Titan into the next phase of product growth and
maturity to meet the mainstream adoption of enterprise-scale service-oriented
architecture (SOA) deployments. Abrahams will build upon the flagship Network
Director Enterprise SOA Fabric and new Data Director SOA data store products,
which today enable Fortune 500 enterprise architects from companies like
Pfizer and Sony to better control their rapidly growing SOA deployments.
"Larry brings global-scale product development and strategy experience to our
veteran management team," said Glenn Hasen, president and CEO of Blue Titan.
"With his proven leadership in managing distributed development centers,
multiple product lines and offshore operations, Larry will be instrumental in
scaling Blue Titan's solutions to meet the increasing needs of Fortune 500
enterprises, as SOAs hit the mainstream."
Abrahams joined Sun to lead the Java 2 Standard Edition team, delivering J2SE
1.2 with the revolutionary Hotspot VM. He went on to deliver J2SE 1.3 and 1.4,
providing the industry with a mature platform for the explosive growth of
J2EE-based platforms and applications. Next, Abrahams oversaw strategy and
product development for the Sun Java System Portal Server where he directed a
global team of engineers and marketers distributed across the U.S. as well as
offshore operations in Bangalore, India. Abrahams also led product strategy
and delivery for the Sun ONE Identity Server, a J2EE-based Web security and
access control management platform. While at Sun, Abrahams was a founder of
the Liberty Alliance where he developed standards for Federated Identity Web
Services and helped set specifications for the OASIS SAML standard. Most
recently, he led the Sun Java System Portal Products group.
"I look forward to helping Blue Titan lead the market adoption of SOA
infrastructure solutions," said Abrahams. "Having the opportunity to work with
high-caliber infrastructure technologists, backed by the combined momentum of
recent Fortune 50 customer wins, road-tested products, and a solid management
team makes Blue Titan a fertile, thriving environment."
Before Sun, Abrahams was the senior director of Internet, Communications and
Small Business Products for Apple Computer where he led a team delivering
award-winning cross platform applications. Prior to Apple, Abrahams helped
Prodigy invent the first mass-market consumer online service and later
functioned as Prodigy's senior director of Platform Software and Advanced
Technology, helping lead the transition to Internet technologies and open
standards. Abrahams holds a Bachelor of Science, Computer Science and
Mathematics from the State University of New York in Albany.
