BEA Ships BEA WebLogic Platform ISV Edition

BEA Systems announced the release of BEA WebLogic Platform ISV Edition, an integrated application platform suite (APS) available to be shipped with partners' packaged software products. BEA WebLogic Platform ISV Edition is the latest innovation from BEA tailored to independent software vendors (ISVs) within its worldwide partner program, and is designed to help them jumpstart their service oriented architecture (SOA) initiatives.

BEA WebLogic Platform ISV Edition is a standards-based, integrated application platform suite designed to help enable the rapid delivery of service oriented architecture products to market in a manageable, phased approach. BEA WebLogic Platform ISV Edition is designed to help allow ISVs to focus efforts on their core value-added capabilities with the assurance of meeting customer demand for SOA solutions.

"We are committed to expanding our partner ecosystem and continue to engage with our ISV partners to help companies deploy SOA-enabled products today," said Bobby Napiltonia, vice president and general manager of worldwide channels and alliances at BEA Systems. "With BEA WebLogic Platform ISV Edition we are delivering a new standard of value to our global ISV partners. BEA continues to be an industry leader in the transition from middleware point products to a more holistic, integrated application platform suite."

"Our customers want real solutions that accelerate their journey toward an Adaptive Enterprise," said Todd DeLaughter, vice president and general manager of Management Software Solutions at HP. "The WebLogic Platform ISV Edition is another example of BEA efforts to find new and unique ways to add value to its strategic partners. We are pleased to continue our efforts with BEA to meet critical customer needs."

"As an SOA platform and set of enterprise application building blocks for integration with EMC Documentum enterprise content management capabilities, BEA WebLogic Platform ISV Edition is a welcomed addition to the BEA family of products for the rapid development of new, innovative solutions."

"Our customers are continually looking for ways to get more bang for their buck when it comes to investment in packaged applications," said Dave Bennett, chief technology officer of Cyclone Commerce.
