CHORUS SYSTEMS JOINS IBM AUTONOMIC COMPUTING INITIATIVE

Chorus Systems Inc, a leader in automated analytics for IT problem management, announced it has joined the IBM Autonomic Computing Business Partner initiative. This partnership allows Chorus Systems to leverage the autonomic capabilities within IBM products while helping to develop new technologies that advance the cause of autonomic computing.

"We believe that one of the key enablers for autonomic computing is the ability to use machine intelligence to analyze the state of a machine at a detailed level and to accurately diagnose problems. Our Uptime product does exactly that, allowing us to trigger and/or implement automated responses that are safe and surgically precise," said Dave Hooks, CTO of Chorus Systems. "We are excited about the opportunity to use our unique technology to complement IBM's autonomic solutions, providing proactive analysis and remediation."

Chorus Systems' patent-pending autonomic software solution, Uptime, automatically monitors, detects, diagnoses, and responds to harmful changes in the computing environment before business disruptions are experienced. This unique technology allows enterprises and Managed Service Providers to:

  • Achieve a significant reduction in the cost of problem management for desktops and servers by reducing the number of service calls and by improving first call resolution rates through automated diagnosis.
  • Dramatically enhance end user satisfaction by finding and responding to problems automatically before they impact end user productivity.
  • Strengthen security by providing a last line of defense that automatically detects and responds to intrusions and malware that leak through traditional signature-based defenses.

Chorus Systems will complement IBM's Autonomic solutions with Uptime's automated characteristics, including:

  • Automated monitoring, detection, root cause analysis and remediation of endpoint computing problems.
  • Automated protection against user error and malware.
  • Automated reporting of anomalies, health, performance and custom metrics.
