Keynotes Named For Grid-Focused Oracle OpenWorld London 2004
Oracle named the keynote speakers for the upcoming Oracle OpenWorld London
2004 exhibition and conference, being held Sept. 6-8 at the ExCeL Centre in
London's Docklands. Featuring some of the industry's foremost pundits, the
keynote series will address how Grid computing and enterprise applications can
help European companies significantly improve information management and slash
operating and IT costs.
The program will include addresses by industry leaders, strategic partners and
Oracle's leading visionaries. The keynote speakers include:
- Sergio Giacoletto, executive vice president of Oracle Europe, Middle East
and Africa, who will discuss the degree of readiness among European companies
for Grid computing.
- Charles Phillips, president of Oracle Corp, who will discuss the growing
importance of high-quality information and the emerging technology
architectures required to create real business value for the modern
enterprise.
- John Manley, director of Application Services Department for HP UK, and
Peter Hindle, business manager of Enterprise Solutions for HP UK, who together
will look at the reality of utility computing solutions today, and offer a
view of where these are headed in the future.
- Ron Wohl, executive vice president of Applications Development for Oracle
Corp, who will discuss how Oracle provides open, integrated business processes
with full business intelligence built in.
- Chuck Rozwat, executive vice president of Oracle Database Server, on how
enterprise Grid computing using low-cost, modular systems is now delivering
mainframe quality of service and making information management easier than
ever.
- Tim Pitcher, vice president of Northern Europe and Middle East for Network
Appliance, who will review how companies can develop storage strategies that
help them better manage asset utilization, safeguard mission-critical data and
achieve high levels of performance and availability for Oracle 10g and Oracle
E-Business Suite environments.
- Tom Garrison, director of Enterprise Marketing for Intel EMEA, who will
talk about how the combination of Intel and Oracle architectures is helping to
transform entire industries.

better business information from their IT investments, while lowering the cost
of computing," said Giacoletto. "Attendees at our event will learn how
innovations such as Grid computing can create competitive advantage while
maximizing existing IT investments, and learn about customers who have
achieved true return on investment using Oracle products and services."
The exhibition hall at the show will give attendees the opportunity to
experience first-hand the full range of Oracle products, as well as hear from
many of the biggest names in technology, including Accenture, Capgemini, Dell,
EMC, Fujitsu Siemens Computers, HP, Intel, Network Appliance and Sun
Microsystems.
Participants will also have the choice of attending approximately 100
different interactive sessions where they can question Oracle's most
experienced architects and engineers about the newest applications and
technologies. These sessions will cover topics ranging from business
intelligence (BI) to customer relationship management (CRM) and supply chain
management (SCM), covering all Oracle's products for industries, including
healthcare, communications and financial services, among others.
