Solsoft, Rendition To Provide Integrated Network Security Mgmt

Solsoft Inc, a provider of network security policy management solutions, and Rendition Networks, a provider of network configuration control solutions, announced the integration of Rendition Networks' TrueControl with Solsoft Policy Server. The combined offering gives IT security and networking professionals an unrivaled platform for managing security policies and device configurations across heterogeneous enterprise and service provider networks.

Solsoft Policy Server is an open system that provides centralized security policy management for firewalls, VPNs, routers and switches, enabling network and security teams to collaborate on the design, approval, deployment, storage and audit of enterprise network security policies. The TrueControl solution from Rendition Networks provides centralized network configuration control across a broad range of network devices including routers, switches, load balancers, firewalls, and VPNs, ensuring greater compliance with regulatory standards, improved disaster avoidance and increased network device security.

As part of the agreement, Solsoft has developed a bi-directional connector to tightly integrate Solsoft Policy Server with TrueControl -- combining highly scalable security policy management with robust, centralized configuration control. The joint solution offers end-to-end control over how network device properties and security rules are managed, resulting in tighter security, greater reliability, and lower costs in highly complex, distributed and heterogeneous IT environments.

As a result of this initial integration, Solsoft Policy Server can now automatically connect to TrueControl to retrieve device inventory and change histories, giving customers a unified, coherent view of device and security configuration status on their networks. Subsequent releases of Solsoft Policy Server will feature the ability to create configuration change templates and make firmware updates via TrueControl.
