J. Russell Hawkins To Spearhead Growth Of InfiniCon
InfiniCon Systems, a provider of InfiniBand-based clustering and I/O
virtualization solutions for next-generation server networks, announced the
appointment of J. Russell Hawkins to the position of chief executive officer.
"We have bolstered our team by adding a CEO experienced in taking an
early-revenue technology company to the next level," said Bruce Ryan, chairman
of InfiniCon's Board of Directors. "Russ Hawkins' strong customer focus,
successful track record, and deep cross-functional background equip him well
to lead InfiniCon to sustainable revenue growth and profitability."
Hawkins most recently served as senior vice president of Carrier Access Corp,
following its acquisition of Paragon Networks where he had served as president
and CEO from 1996 to late 2003. At Paragon, a manufacturer of broadband access
technologies, Hawkins built a profitable business by developing and selling
transport and access equipment to major wireless carriers worldwide. Hawkins
previously held executive positions at Lucent, AT&T and New England Telephone.
He replaces Charles Foley, who has stepped down to pursue other interests.
Foley will have a continuing role with InfiniCon, serving on its advisory
board.
