Collation Joins IBM Autonomic Computing Initiative
Collation Inc, a pioneer of application topology and configuration management
solutions for the enterprise, announced that it has joined the IBM Autonomic
Computing Initiative.
"Understanding the structure and definition of applications is the mandatory
first step to realizing self-managing computing systems and puts organizations
on the road to Autonomic Computing," said Vinu Sundaresan, CTO and co-founder
of Collation. "This is the goal which Collation and IBM share, and we are
excited to join IBM in this effort by enabling our Confignia product using the
Autonomic Computing Toolkit."
The objective of the Autonomic Computing Initiative is to realize a world
where computer systems are self-managing -- fixing their own problems before
you even know something is wrong -- which allows IT professionals to better
control increasingly complex and expensive IT environments. Collation's
Confignia product will be Autonomic Computing enabled by the end of 2004.
Collation customers deploying Confignia today will also be able to take
advantage of this integration when it is completed.
