Oracle Names Harry L. You Chief Financial Officer
Oracle Corp announced that Harry L. You has joined the company as executive
vice president and chief financial officer, reporting to CEO Larry Ellison.
You joins Oracle from Accenture, a global management consulting, technology
services and outsourcing company, where he was CFO since June 2001. He was
responsible for all financial operations and for helping lead Accenture
through its transition as a new public company.
"Harry has served with distinction as CFO of Accenture, one of Oracle's
premier commercial partners," said Ellison. "We are pleased about his joining
our management team."
"I am extremely delighted to be joining Oracle as its new CFO," commented You.
"I look forward to reporting to Larry and to continuing the outstanding legacy
of financial management that Jeff Henley has fostered during his long,
successful tenure. I also am excited to be the point person for Oracle's
alliance relationship with Accenture, which I believe is one of the preeminent
professional services firms in the world. I hope to continue my many
friendships with the 2,300 partners of Accenture in my new position."
At Oracle, You will be succeeding Henley as CFO. Henley was elected chairman
of Oracle's Board in January 2004, and announced at that time that he would be
stepping down as Oracle's CFO after 13 years in that position. Prior to
joining Accenture, You had extensive experience in corporate finance as
managing director in charge of the Computer and Business Services Group at
Morgan Stanley, where he led a global team that guided professional firms from
partnership structure to public ownership. He also played a key role in
establishing Morgan Stanley as the premier advisory firm serving professional
services and technology clients.
Before working at Morgan Stanley, You was senior vice president of the General
Industrial Group at Lehman Brothers. In that role he was responsible for
corporate finance coverage of several diversified conglomerates and
information technology companies. Before that, You was vice president at
Salomon Brothers Inc, where he was responsible for coverage of the U.S.
subsidiaries of Asian clients and for running Salomon's Korea office.
Earlier in his career, You served as advisor to the Board of Directors at
Lucky-Goldstar International in Seoul, as economist and assistant to the
director at the International Monetary Fund, and as a Federal Reserve Liaison
for the U.S. Treasury Department.
You received a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics cum laude from Harvard
College and a Master of Arts degree in economics from Yale University.
