Avaki Taps Systems Integration Expert For Advisory Board
Avaki Corp, a provider of enterprise information integration (EII) software,
announced the appointment of Brian J. Queenin to its Board of Advisors.
Currently vice president and global leader of the business intelligence
practice at Capgemini, Queenin brings more than 20 years of executive insight
into large-scale systems integration initiatives, business intelligence,
analytic applications, data warehousing and executive information systems to
Avaki's board of industry thought leaders. Avaki's Board of Advisors already
comprises some of the industry's most well-known visionaries including David
Linthicum, a pioneer in distributed computing and application integration and
former CTO of Mercator (now part of Ascential Software), and Bob Metcalfe,
best known for inventing Ethernet and founding 3Com. Philip Russom, renowned
data integration expert and director of research at Forrester Research, serves
as the board's independent facilitator.
Queenin is widely regarded as an expert in systems integration, having led
numerous large-scale business and operational performance initiatives for a
broad range of companies in many industries. Currently, he leads the business
intelligence practice at Capgemini, one of the world's foremost providers of
consulting, technology and outsourcing services. He has also held executive
and management roles at PricewaterhouseCoopers, Coopers & Lybrand, Citibank
and American Express, where initiatives included design and development of
decision support systems, sales force automation projects, trade promotion and
analysis engagements, data warehousing and supply chain management.
"Brian's depth of knowledge in enterprise systems and business intelligence is
a crucial asset," said Tim Yeaton, president and CEO of Avaki Corp. "We are
extremely excited to have such an accomplished individual play another pivotal
role on our advisory board. This group of industry experts and key customers
has already provided invaluable feedback, validating Avaki's product plans and
strategic direction."
Queenin's appointment to the Avaki Board of Advisors comes on the heels of the
company's recent launch of Avaki 5.0, an enterprise information integration
solution that provides a maximally flexible way to provision, access and
integrate distributed data across and between enterprises. The new Avaki 5.0
debuted a series of data integration enhancements including an Enterprise Data
Integration Framework -- a set of capabilities enabling customers to bring all
their data integration efforts under one enterprise-wide umbrella --
increasing data availability and reducing the cost and complexity of data
integration without losing the flexibility to choose the right integration
method for the project at hand. The Enterprise Data Integration Framework
received overwhelming support from Avaki's Board of Advisors for its ability
to provide an enterprise data service layer that simplifies access and
integration of data from all distributed, heterogeneous sources, while at the
same time providing companies with the flexibility to leverage a variety of
data integration methods and technologies.
"Avaki has a strong vision and a solid product that answers a unique need in
the data integration marketplace. I am delighted to join Avaki's Board of
Advisors and look forward to contributing to the company's success and growth
as an enterprise information integration market leader," said Queenin.
