Advantage Capital Partners Invests In GridApp Systems

Advantage Capital Partners, a private equity firm supporting evolving opportunities in the IT sector, has made a significant investment in the New York-based technology company GridApp Systems, a provider of database virtualization and consolidation solutions. GridApp has been in business for nearly two years offering innovative solutions to enterprises that want to improve the manageability and reduce the costs of their database infrastructures.

"Unlike many technology companies in the marketplace, GridApp Systems is approaching system virtualization from a real-world perspective," stated Scott Murphy, senior vice president at Advantage. "Advantage Capital prefers to support companies such as GridApp that have a compelling value proposition and successful results with customers."

GridApp Systems' database virtualization software and database appliance are plug-and-play, enabling IT organizations to easily consolidate heterogeneous, standards-based databases such as Oracle, IBM DB2 and MySQL into a self-optimizing, fault tolerant Grid of capacity. The end result is a database infrastructure that is high performing, reliable, scalable and 75 percent less expensive than comparable solutions in the marketplace.

"We are extremely excited to be partnering with Advantage Capital," stated GridApp Systems CEO Robert Gardos. "GridApp has made great strides in creating a powerful platform for managing database infrastructures globally. Advantage's expertise and capital will help us accelerate the adoption of our product suite in the marketplace."
