Coyote Point Systems set a new standard for cost-effective enterprise load-balancing solutions with the introduction of Equalizer Extreme. Equalizer Extreme is an ultra-high performance layer 4-7 load-balancing solution that combines award-winning Dell PowerEdge 1750 servers with Coyote Point's industry-recognized Equalizer intelligent load-balancing technology.

"Coyote Point is bringing high value for the IT dollar investment to the enterprise load-balancing market. Our Equalizer Extreme solution is a signal to enterprise IT departments that we have heard their cries for help, and that it is possible to deliver ultra-high performance application traffic management without draining their IT budgets," said William Kish, founder and CTO of Coyote Point Systems. "Coyote Point is taking a market approach that balances price with product performance utility, delivering exactly what network and IT managers need to successfully scale their Web and network infrastructures and solve real world business problems."

Coyote Point's solutions help thousands of growing organizations that require 100 percent uptime and maximum performance of their Web sites and networks. The Equalizer Extreme enables customers to modernize their network infrastructure to handle today's most pressing e-business and network-centric issues, including Web performance, availability, quality of service, business continuity and security, at a price point as much as 75 percent less than competitive offerings. Equalizer routes server requests to the server that's least loaded and does it immediately and intelligently, ensuring every server operates at full capacity, instead of overloading some servers while severely under utilizing others. If Equalizer detects a server failure, traffic is redirected automatically.

By delivering the new load-balancing system on Dell PowerEdge servers, Coyote Point provides IT administrators high performance with readily demonstrable return on investment. The Equalizer Extreme load-balancing solution runs on Dell's PowerEdge 1750 rack server, which combines the performance of dual Intel Xeon processors, hot-plug redundant power and Dell OpenManage remote management capabilities in a 1U chassis. The powerful and flexible PowerEdge server platform offers the reliability and quality that enterprise customers have come to expect from Dell.

"The Dell PowerEdge platform is well-respected in the enterprise, and by partnering with Dell we are able to deliver cost-effective, enterprise-class server load-balancing to market and broaden our customer base," said Tom Wolf, director of worldwide sales and marketing for Coyote Point. "Equalizer Extreme is a natural extension of our current product line, and now customers large and small have a complete spectrum of load-balancing solutions and complimentary options which provide flexibility and utility to help them maximize their often scarce or limited IT resources."

Coyote Point delivers a range of additional capabilities to meet expanding or unique enterprise networking needs. Coyote Point's Equalizer XCEL is a cost-effective add-on security feature that offloads the processing of secure sockets layer (SSL) connections that are generally common in any secure Web transaction. Coyote Point's Envoy solution adds intelligent geographic load balancing to Equalizer networks, providing scalability and availability across every server cluster, anywhere in the world. With Envoy, Equalizer routes traffic among widely distributed servers effortlessly.
