ENGINEOUS EXTENDS GRID CAPABILITIES WITH FIPER 1.5
Engineous Software, a provider of integration, automation, and design
optimization technology, and related strategic services, announced that it is
currently shipping FIPER 1.5 to customers worldwide. FIPER is an enterprise
solution that provides an infrastructure for real-time engineering design
collaboration. The new release features the FIPER WebTop which allows easy
access to applications through Web interfaces, federated B2B connectivity that
allows secure application sharing between business partners, visualization
enhancements for real-time and post-processing, and an interface to LSF from
Platform Computing to extend distributed computing capabilities. These
enhancements allow organizations to extend analysis and workflow beyond the
desktop and create global product or process simulations.
The FIPER 1.5 release was built based on specifications provided by key
automotive, aerospace and electronics customers, many of whom had been using
earlier versions of the software for more than a year. Additional product
requirements came from clients using FIPER in a variety of government
contracts, including initiatives with the Office of the Deputy Assistant
Secretary of the Army, NIST ATP, and the United States Department of Defense.
The new features support the company's goal to accelerate customers' returns
on investment in their PLM solutions by building an effective connection to
the engineering enterprise.
"FIPER facilitates integration of distributed design data, tools, models and
processes enabling parameter-based engineering design and optimization," said
Don Brown, managing partner of Collaborative Product Development Associates,
LLC. "These capabilities make FIPER an essential component of a design
enterprise's overall PLM infrastructure."
Engineous Software, known for its leadership in the Collaborative Enterprise
Engineering space, will continue to develop partnerships with best-in-class
third party vendors. For example, the FIPER 1.5 release supports Platform
Computing's LSF distributed resource management capabilities.
"FIPER helps engineers solve some of their toughest design problems through
the use of software simulation models," said Janet C. Wylie, president and CEO
of Engineous. "As our customers began building larger and more complex
simulations, we recognized a need to Grid-enable our applications so they
could harness more powerful computing resources. By working with Platform and
other Grid partners, we can advance these capabilities faster and more
effectively, and are more adept at handling the sophisticated and evolving
needs of our customers."
