eEye, BigFix To Provide Solution For Enterprise Networks
eEye Digital Security and BigFix announced a partnership to provide the
industry's first fully-integrated vulnerability assessment and remediation
solution. eEye will integrate the BigFix Enterprise Suite with eEye's Retina
Enterprise Suite. The resulting offering will represent a unique, end-to-end
vulnerability assessment and remediation management solution that allows
enterprises to quickly and easily identify and eliminate network security
threats regardless of operating system, application type or network
architecture.
"Our customers have made it clear that vulnerability assessment and
remediation management capabilities must be integrated, as security and IT
operations converge within the enterprise," said Firas Raouf, chief operating
officer at eEye Digital Security. "We evaluated various remediation automation
technologies and found the BigFix architecture to be most effective at meeting
the scalability and flexibility requirements of the FORTUNE 1000 enterprises
that make up our customer base."
The partnership will deliver a comprehensive, end-to-end vulnerability
management workflow capability through eEye's Retina Enterprise Suite, which
includes the Retina Network Security Scanner and REM Security Management
Platform. The integration of BigFix's automation-assisted remediation allows
IT departments to significantly control and streamline the most time-consuming
and arduous aspects of configuration and patch management, effectively
eliminating the need to manually assign and then fix network vulnerabilities.
IT departments can now identify vulnerabilities in real time, assign their
remediation to specific individuals and/or groups and automatically fix and
receive immediate updates on the status of identified vulnerabilities.
Streamlining the remediation process through effective prioritization of
vulnerabilities is becoming increasingly important in order to combat the
shrinking time period between the announcement of a vulnerability and the
emergence of a worm or other damaging attacks.
