PLATFORM, MACROVISION TO DELIVER ENHANCED GRID CAPABILITIES

Platform Computing and Macrovision announced an expanded partnership that will enable Platform customers to optimize their Grid computing implementations.

Platform Computing and Macrovision originally partnered in 2003 when Macrovision announced the formation of their FLEXnet alliance program. As part of the alliance program, Macrovision will certify Platform Computing products for operation with FLEXnet, Macrovision's award-winning universal licensing platform. Macrovision is the market leader in software licensing, with more than 3,000 ISV's and 850 enterprises using the company's solutions to maximize the value of their software assets.

The integration between Platform Computing and Macrovision will be incorporated into future versions of the new product suite through FLEXnet Connector, the standards-based interface used by partners to integrate to the FLEXnet universal licensing platform.

In a separate announcement made today, Platform Computing announced the launch of Platform LSF Electronics Edition, the first end-to-end Grid solution targeted specifically for the semiconductor sector in the electronics industry.

"We are pleased to have Platform Computing and Macrovision working together to help us maximize the utilization of our software and compute resources and minimize the cost and time for product development," said Ann Gatlin of Legerity Inc.

"Our partnerships with Macrovision, along with our launch of Platform LSF Electronics Edition, further illustrate Platform's strong commitment to provide industry-specific Grid solutions," said Peter Nichol, vice president of electronics at Platform Computing. "Platform leads the industry in Grid-enabling more than 100 applications from ISV and system software partners, and we continue to build and expand partnerships in order to drive the adoption of Grid in the electronics marketplace."

"Platform Computing is the leading Grid software developer and this partnership supports our efforts to help companies optimize their software licenses in Grid environments," said David Rowley, vice president of business development at Macrovision. "By connecting third party partners to our FLEXnet platform via FLEXnet Connector, we are able to provide better integrated, more robust joint solutions to our mutual customers."
