PATSYSTEMS GOES GRID FOR NEW TRADING PLATFORM: GigaSpaces announced that Patsystems, a leading global provider of high performance trading technology, has selected the GigaSpaces Grid infrastructure as a key server component in its new trading platform, "TradeMark."
IBM CREATES BUZZ WITH 'STINGER': IBM is delivering the open beta of the next version of its DB2 Universal Database, code-named "Stinger." The new software delivers 200 new features that ease database administration, broaden support for popular application development environments and boost system performance.
SUN N1 GRID TECHNOLOGY AVAILABLE TO SAP CUSTOMERS: Leveraging Sun's Solaris Operating System and N1 Grid Container technology, dedicated servers located across the Network can be virtually pooled together to help enable customers to manage "N" computers as "1," and curtail the practice of assigning dedicated servers for a single application.

TEXAS A&M EMPLOYS GRID COMPUTING TO EXPAND IT RESOURCES: United Devices, a market leader in secure Grid solutions, is in the process of linking together 1,000 computers at Texas A&M University to create one of the most powerful academic Grids focused on microbial genetics and genomics research projects in the United States.
MAJOR REPORT SAYS GRID TO SPUR PHARMA IT: A recent IBM Business Consulting Services report lists Grid computing among seven key technologies that will revolutionize the pharmaceutical industry by 2010.
NLR ANNOUNCES LIGHTING OF PATH BETWEEN D.C., ATLANTA: Meeting the target completion date on April 16, Cisco deployed eight 10 Gbps Ethernet lambdas for NLR along the 766 fiber miles (1532 strand miles) between Washington, D.C., and Atlanta. Overall, the system supports expansions up to 40 10 Gbps lambdas.
