POINDEXTER ADDS UTILITY COMPUTING TO POE OPTIMIZATION SUITE
Poindexter Systems Inc, a leading provider of performance optimization
technologies that enable online marketers to maximize the performance and
profitability of their Internet-based advertising and media campaigns,
announced that it has unveiled SmartServe, its "fourth generation" ad serving
tool to now be seamlessly integrated into Poindexter's Progressive
Optimization Engine (POE) Suite. SmartServe is the company's innovative
technology that provides trafficking, campaign management and detailed
reporting by leveraging the concept of utility computing. POE is the
industry's first real-time statistical modeling platform that runs the Media
Optimization, Creative Optimization and Brand Optimization suite of products.
With the latest integration, advertisers can use existing network
infrastructures to achieve unparalleled capacity, performance and efficiency
without substantial investment in local hardware and software for ad serving.
Poindexter's use of utility computing consists of processing and distributing
advertisements entirely "at the edge" via several leading Content Distribution
Networks (CDNs), such as Akamai, Mirror Image Internet and Speedera. The
nature of CDNs allow for copies of content to be instantly replicated, cached
and processed throughout their global networks. Thus, both processing and
content delivery can occur at the location immediately adjacent to the viewer,
without requiring a call to a central set of servers. This results in
significant improvements to speed, reliability and cost effectiveness for
Poindexter-delivered ads and content to the end-user. SmartServe also allows
traffic to be dynamically routed across multiple networks without requiring
advertiser, publisher or network involvement.
