ACXIOM NAMED AMERICAN BUSINESS
AWARDS FINALIST
Acxiom Corp has been named a finalist in the 2004 American Business Awards
"Most Innovative Company" category for its development of one of the first
Grid computing systems for use in large commercial applications.
Hailed as "the business world's own Oscars" by the New York Post, The American
Business Awards are the first national, all-encompassing business awards
program honoring great performances in the workplace.
Acxiom is one of six finalists in the "Most Innovative Company" category.
Entries are judged on specific accomplishments within the category, related to
past performance and industry standards. Other finalists in the category
include UPS, Humana Inc, and Memphis Light, Gas and Water.
Web services, utility computing, .NET, CPU harvesting and distributed
computing are just a few of the technologies that fall under the Grid
computing umbrella. Gt04 -- a premiere enterprise Grid computing conference
targeting industrial and commercial users -- will gather experts, and outline
strategies and road maps for Grid deployment. For more information, visit

program garnered more than 800 nominations from companies of all sizes and in
virtually every industry.
"The Stevie Award has quickly become the most coveted business honor in
America," said Michael Gallagher, founder and president of The Stevie Awards.
"Being selected as a finalist is an important achievement, with the judges
agreeing that each company chosen is worthy of national recognition."
Acxiom was also named one of six finalists for "Best Communications Team" for
its Personicx product communications team, which in one year developed and
implemented a highly successful campaign that helped established Personicx as
the fastest growing household segmentation system used by marketers today.
Winners will be announced during presentations May 10 at the Sheraton New York
Hotel & Towers in New York City. The ceremonies will be videocast live on the
Internet and will be broadcast nationwide by the Business TalkRadio Network.
Members of the awards' board of distinguished judges and advisors and their
staffs will select Stevie winners from among the finalists. The board includes
business luminaries such as Rich Karlgaard, publisher of Forbes; Bruce Nelson,
chairman and CEO of Office Depot; marketing gurus Don Peppers and Martha
Rogers; Anthony Robbins, chairman and CEO of The Anthony Robbins Companies;
Drew Schutte, publisher of Wired Magazine; Jeffrey Tarr, chairman and CEO of
