GLOBAL INVENTURES WELCOMES
ENTERPRISE GRID ALLIANCE AS CLIENT
Global Inventures, a recognized leader in providing incubation, structuring
and management services to collaborative communities in the technology
industry, announced that the Enterprise Grid Alliance (EGA), a new alliance
comprised of industry leaders in the enterprise software, hardware and
services market, has retained the firm to manage ongoing collaboration
activities.
EGA is an open, independent and vendor-neutral community formed to develop
enterprise Grid solutions and accelerate the deployment of Grid computing in
enterprises. Grid computing connects pools of computers, storage and networks,
enabling enterprises to dynamically allocate resources based on changing
business needs. EGA will enable businesses to realize the many benefits of
Grid computing such as faster response to changing business needs, better
utilization and service level performance and lower IT operating costs.
Web services, utility computing, .NET, CPU harvesting and distributed
computing are just a few of the technologies that fall under the Grid
computing umbrella. Gt04 -- a premiere enterprise Grid computing conference
targeting industrial and commercial users -- will gather experts, and outline
strategies and road maps for Grid deployment. For more information, visit
www.gt04.com.

The Alliance announced its formation on April 20.
The initial EGA Board includes EMC, Fujitsu Siemens Computers, HP, Intel,
NEC,
Network Appliance, Oracle and Sun Microsystems. Other founding members are
AMD, Ascential Software, Cassatt, Citrix, Data Synapse, Enigmatec, Force 10
Networks, Novell, Optena, Paremus and Topspin.
"Grid computing is fundamental to the evolution of Information Technology
in
the enterprise," said Deepak Kamlani, president and CEO of Global Inventures.
"We believe Grids represent a paradigm shift in enterprise computing and
management, and asset resourcing. We are delighted to have helped launch the
EGA and we look forward to working with the community to make their vision a
reality."
