RLX Announces Support For Intel Xeon Processors

RLX Technologies Inc, a leading provider of blade server and modular computing technologies, announced that RLX will continue to standardize on the Intel processor family and will support the upcoming Intel Xeon processors including Intel Extended Memory 64 Technology (Intel EM64T). RLX plans to release a version of the company's RackModule or 1U server that supports the Intel Xeon processor in 2004, shortly after the processors are available from Intel. RLX will also release a line of RLX High Performance ServerBlades that support Intel Xeon processors including Intel EM64T later in 2004.

"As our customer base continues expanding rapidly into new markets, we are committed to evolving the RLX's system offerings to meet customers unique computing requirements," said Douglas J. Erwin, president and CEO at RLX. "Intel's Xeon processor family including Intel EM64T will deliver new hardware performance levels to meet the needs of both our enterprise datacenter and high performance customers. We are embracing Intel's roadmap while continuing to focus on delivering the most manageable, efficient and stable modular computing solutions available on the market today.

"We are pleased that RLX will standardize on the Intel Xeon processor family and additionally embrace the forthcoming Intel Xeon processor including Intel EM64T in upcoming products. This will provide clear benefits for current and future RLX customers -- including those seeking 64-bit memory addressability in front-end and HPC application environments," says Abhi Talwalkar, vice president and general manager within Intel's Enterprise Platform Group.

RLX Modular Computing Solutions deliver smarter computing and intelligent management to customers worldwide. RLX combines award-winning blade and 1U server technology with industry-leading connectivity and storage options. Using intelligent management from RLX, virtually all system resources can be deployed, managed, monitored and controlled remotely, from any Web browser, using RLX's powerful management software, Control Tower XT. Operating systems and applications can also be easily and quickly deployed across multiple servers in minutes versus hours, with less human error. RLX modular compute management functionality enables customers to cost effectively and efficiently leverage Linux and Microsoft Windows for Web-based or enterprise applications and high performance compute clusters.
