DataSynapse SUPPORTS IBM OPAL INITIATIVE

DataSynapse Inc, a fast-growing provider of Grid computing software for commercial applications, announced its participation in the IBM Orchestration and Provisioning Automation Library (OPAL) to create and build workflows for the automation and provisioning of on-demand computing infrastructures. Intended to bring together IBM partners to share IT best practices and collaborate on building a broad repository of workflows for storage, network infrastructure, server platforms, applications and middleware, OPAL arms IBM business partners with the solutions needed to help customers rapidly build and deploy on-demand IT environments, reducing total cost of ownership and improving resource utilization.

As a participant in OPAL, DataSynapse will create and publish workflows that address the virtualization and execution of application services across the network, while enabling organizations to leverage additional resources when needed to meet quality service needs. Integrating Tivoli Intelligent ThinkDynamic Orchestrator with DataSynapse's award-winning technology, GridServer enables enterprises to implement a cost-effective model for acquiring, deploying and managing resources while delivering significant improvements to application performance, resiliency and scalability.

Web services, utility computing, .NET, CPU harvesting and distributed computing are just a few of the technologies that fall under the Grid computing umbrella. Gt04 -- a premiere enterprise Grid computing conference targeting industrial and commercial users -- will gather experts, and outline strategies and road maps for Grid deployment. "Combining Tivoli Intelligent ThinkDynamic Orchestrator and GridServer will enable IT organizations to eliminate stovepipes and silos and offer customers on-the-fly infrastructure provisioning to respond to changing business conditions," said Tony Bishop, DataSynapse's chief business architect. "As a participant in the OPAL initiative, DataSynapse is able to closely align itself with IBM's e-business and on-demand strategy, generating new revenue opportunities and improving quality of service for our clients."

"OPAL allows IBM and its partners to address common IT pains most frequently reported by customers: dependence on manual processes and low utilization of resources," said Sandra Carter, vice president of worldwide Tivoli marketing and software group. "The involvement of DataSynapse provides immediate value to organizations looking to remove the limitations of existing environments to optimize resource allocation, while in the process consuming less capital, generating new revenue opportunities and reducing operating costs."
