Applications:
end2end VISIBILITY 3.0 TEMPLATE
EASES MONITORING CHALLENGES
Sockeye Solutions Corp, a leading developer of adaptive supply chain
collaboration applications, introduced its end2end Visibility Template 3.0.
The new template allows enterprises to synchronize and monitor the performance
of distributed business partners across the entire inbound and outbound supply
networks, leading to immediate customer value from the template.
"Enterprises are moving to a more decentralized business model where
outsourcing plays an ever-increasing role in manufacturing," said Brian
Nickerson, president and CEO of Sockeye Solutions. "These relationships span
from new product design, custom and standard components to contract
manufacturing and product distribution. Transferring these activities beyond
the traditional enterprise increases the challenges associated with monitoring
critical processes, visibility of the business activities and monitoring
performance that affect operational costs and customer performance."
The solution provides the ability to define the specific business processes
and data elements that are required to monitor any given point or transaction
within the network and examine the corresponding key performance indicators
and exception conditions (SCEM) to proactively notify participants in
real-time to react to exceptions. The Sockeye Rapid Partner On-boarding
Program ensures that visibility is extended quickly beyond the enterprise and
leverages both existing connectivity infrastructure and Sockeye's Agent
Framework. The end2end Visibility Template is deployed on Sockeye Solutions'
Collaborative Application Framework (CAF) and is highly configurable using
Sockeye's Business Process Modelling Studio (SWIFT) to define new business
processes as supply chain requirements evolve.
Web services, utility computing, .NET, CPU harvesting and distributed
computing are just a few of the technologies that fall under the Grid
computing umbrella. Gt04 -- a premiere enterprise Grid computing conference
targeting industrial and commercial users -- will gather experts, and outline
strategies and road maps for Grid deployment. For more information, visit

How end2end Visibility 3.0 Works
Data elements for each node of the supply chain are defined according to
the
business process model associated with the required transactions. Higher-
level aggregations and dis-aggregations can also provide visibility at
multiple levels through simple drill down or drill up methods. Through the
administration configuration, users throughout the supply chain can subscribe
to information, processes, services and alerts that affect their performance
and objectives. New processes and partners are easily added to extend the
visibility into their customers and suppliers. Increased functionality such as
inventory replenishment, procurement collaboration or logistics visibility can
also be added into deployments as requirements change.
Benefits of end2end Visibility 3.0 include:
- Fast Implementation and Deployment
- Reusable building blocks (processes, components and services) can
be configured and deployed across any supply chain or division
- Rapid Partner On-boarding Program supports several connectivity
options and a phased implementation strategy
- React Quickly to Changes in the Network
- end2end supply chain hierarchical alerting against business
processes
- Real-time business process modification and deployment
- Incremental Business Process Optimisation
- Identify and monitor critical components and processes
- Reduce inventory and lead times
- Create communities for collaboration and sharing information
- Create Immediate Customer Value
- Proactive identification, notification and resolution of problems
across the enterprise and all business partners
Sockeye Application Templates are pre-configured software components
developed
to speed customer deployment of Collaborative Supply Chain applications.
Developed using standard supply chain best practices, the templates deliver
the functionality required to execute generic collaboration business
processes. Customers then configure the templates to meet the unique and
evolving requirements of their specific supply chain(s) and business
relationships. This configuration can be easily performed by business users-as
opposed to expensive customisation-and can adapt as a company's supply chain
and business partners evolve. The result is a unique application, deployed
quickly, that captures the competitive advantage of the customer's supply
chain.
Residing outside the "four walls," the Application Templates are truly
native
to the Internet and make extended enterprise planning and execution a reality.
Sockeye's Collaborative Application Framework (CAF) supports and enhances
existing technology systems to better execute real-time communication and
planning throughout the extended supply chain and among multiple tiers of
trading partners.
