eSpatial ANNOUNCES COMPATIBILITY
WITH ORACLE DATABASE 10g
eSpatial, a leading spatial information management company, announced that
its
iSMARTR product suite is compatible with Oracle Database 10g. As part of the
Oracle 10g beta program, eSpatial tested iSMART, its flagship geospatial
product for business applications, with Oracle 10g and is ready to upgrade
customers from Oracle9i to Oracle Database 10g technology, which is now
available.
"eSpatial is one of our top EMEA partner organizations to have successfully
beta tested Oracle Database 10g," commented Bertram Mandel, senior director of
alliances and channels for Oracle Europe, Middle East and Africa. "Spatial
technology is a focus area for Oracle and we are pleased that eSpatial is one
of the first geospatial information management companies to harness the power
of Oracle Database 10g. It will simplify database administration and
management and enhance eSpatial's customers' experience."
Web services, utility computing, .NET, CPU harvesting and distributed
computing are just a few of the technologies that fall under the Grid
computing umbrella. Gt04 -- a premiere enterprise Grid computing conference
targeting industrial and commercial users -- will gather experts, and outline
strategies and road maps for Grid deployment. For more information, visit

eSpatial's iSMART spatial application development and deployment platform
has
been developed to provide embedded spatial capabilities in enterprise
applications using standard IT technologies including Oracle's Spatial
database and Oracle Application Server. This was the case for releases based
on Oracle8i, Oracle9i and now Oracle Database 10g. iSMART provides
out-of-the-box support for advanced features such as Web-based spatial
editing, occasionally connected offline spatial interaction and Live Feeds
which work seamlessly with Oracle Database10g.
"Oracle Database10g introduces new spatial data capabilities, such as
geocoding and topology, in the database environment, and therefore extends the
addressable market for spatial information management solutions to a broad
enterprise base," said Philip O'Doherty, CEO of eSpatial. "Our spatial
development and deployment product provides unparalleled seamless support for
the Oracle Spatial platform, and we welcome the increased level of support
that we can now give to our existing and growing customer base. This will open
up new opportunities within the broader IT market for spatial solutions."
Oracle Database 10g is the first database designed for emerging enterprise
Grid computing, a cost effective and flexible way to manage enterprise
information.
