HITACHI TO DISTRIBUTE VOLTAIRE
InfiniBand FOR 10g IN JAPAN
Voltaire, a leading provider of high performance InfiniBand solutions,
announced a high performance, standards-based, scalable InfiniBand solution
for Oracle Database 10g for the Japanese market. Voltaire's partners, Hitachi
High-Technologies Corporation (Hitachi-HT) and Hitachi Information Technology
Co. Ltd. (Hitachi-IT) will distribute the solution which is designed for
emerging enterprise Grid computing. Hitachi System & Services Ltd
(Hitachi-SAS) demonstrated the joint Voltaire and Oracle solution last month
at OracleWorld in Tokyo.
Voltaire's InfiniBand solution, which consists of both software and
hardware,
provides a high speed interconnect solution for Oracle Database 10g, the first
database designed for emerging enterprise Grid computing. In addition to
improving performance and scalability, the joint solution brings simplicity to
the data center by interconnecting Oracle Database 10g and shared storage
through a single Voltaire InfiniBand switch router.

improvements and increased scalability to Oracle Database 10g," said Howard
Cohen, vice president of Distributed Systems at Oracle Corp. "Enterprise
customers in Japan now have powerful InfiniBand database solutions to

The joint Hitachi and Voltaire InfiniBand solution for Oracle Database 10g
includes:
- Voltaire ISR 6000 - InfiniBand Switch Router
- Voltaire HCA 400 LP 4X InfiniBand adapter
- Voltaire high performance software stack for Linux
- Voltaire intelligent IP Routers for seamless connectivity to IP
networks
- Voltaire intelligent InfiniBand-to-FC Routers for shared storage
connectivity
