Certeon Announces Optimization Of
Distribution Platform
Certeon Inc, a leading vendor of secure information distribution,
management,
sharing and synchronization platforms for diverse enterprise and partner
networks, announced that the Certeon Distribution Platform has been optimized
for a high level of scalability on large enterprise networks, powered by Intel
processor-based server platforms that include Hyper-Threading Technology.
The Certeon Information Distribution Platform enables geographically
dispersed
organizations to share information securely and efficiently across network
boundaries behind firewalls. Customers can distribute bandwidth-intensive
applications and rich data such as streaming media, Web based applications,
directories, Web sites, Web objects and files:
- Without costly network upgrades
- Behind existing firewalls, with or without a VPN
- Synchronizing changes across the network.
The information is centrally managed from a server that distributes it to
local devices at the edge of the network. The Certeon solution is ideal for
organizations that need to manage rich content across networks with:
- Insufficient bandwidth
- Security barriers
- Intermittent connectivity.
Certeon's server software is well-suited to take advantage of Intel Xeon
processors that include Hyper-Threading Technology. The Certeon Distribution
Platform based on Intel Xeon processors brings the performance, scalability
and high availability needed for distributing content and applications to
branch offices and business partners.
"By utilizing Hyper-Threading technology for their multi-threaded
applications, Certeon can create large scale distribution networks more
efficiently while providing improved performance and scalability," said
Melissa Laird, general manager of Intel's Solutions Enabling Division. "Intel
is delighted that Certeon is optimizing their platform for Intel Xeon
processor-based servers as part of the Intel Early Access Program."
"Together, Intel processor architectures and Certeon's platform software
can
deliver powerful content management and distribution solutions for very large
enterprise and partner networks," said John Barger, vice president of
engineering for Certeon. "We are very enthusiastic about working with Intel,
the industry leader in server-based processors, to increase the numbers of
users who can access content from each server. Certeon is committed to
increasing the price/performance of its platforms and deliver increased value
to the enterprise customer."
