Globus Alliance Activities
Scheduled At SC03
Participants in the Globus Alliance will present a a wide range of SC03
tutorials, technical papers and posters. The Globus Toolkit includes
components that are the fundamental enabling technologies for the Grid, and
members of the alliance are among the principal architects of the Open Grid
Services Architecture.

many
noteworthy activities will
be a
full-day tutorial whose popularity led SC03 organizers to schedule it twice.
"How to Build a Grid Service Using Globus Toolkit 3.0 (GT3)" will be offered
on Nov. 16 and 17. A special BoF, "Perspectives on the Globus Toolkit," will
be held Nov. 20 at noon in room 19-20. Other scheduled highlights include:
Running continually in the Argonne Mathematics and Computer Sciences Division
booth #120, the demos will feature technologies such as GT3, OGSA-DAI, GrADS,
GridFTP, SCEC (Southern California Earthquake Center), NEESgrid (part of the
Network for Earthquake Engineering Simulation), MPICH-G2, Earth Systems Grid,
GriPhyN (Grid Physics Network), Community Scheduler Framework, NMI Portals,
Condor and Grid2003.
In addition, Ian Foster and Carl Kesselman of the Globus Alliance will sign
copies of the new updated edition of their book, The Grid 2. This event will
be at 10 a.m. on Nov. 19 in the Elsevier booth #2415.
