Redux To Demo Converged TDM And
Ethernet Over G.SHDSL.bis
Redux Communications will be showing a demonstration of converged TDM and
Ethernet over G.SHDSL.bis, powered by Metalink, Nov. 3-7 at NGN 2003 in
Boston, booth #216. Redux's CM-160, Legacy over Packet evaluation and ODM
system, will be connected to Metalink's Ethernet over G.SHDSL.bis evaluation
module. The demonstration will combine, Redux's RS-160, the world's most
cost-effective single-chip solution for transporting both E1/T1 and Ethernet
services over an Ethernet/IP network, and Metalink's market leading G.SHDSL
chip set.
Metalink is a global provider and developer of high performance wireline
and
wireless broadband communication silicon solutions. Metalink's flexible
EoSHDSL architecture allows carrying data rates from 192 Kb per second and up
to 3.3 Mb per second over a single copper pair reaching rates of more than 10
Mb per second symmetric by using multi-pairs. Metalink's products comply with
G.SHDSL.bis enhanced features of high bit rates support, packetized services
enca per secondulation and bonding of multi-pairs.
Redux's RS-160 is a special-purpose wire-speed TDM over Packet traffic
processor that enables a single high-speed packet link to be used to transport
both data services and circuit-based services thereby eliminating the cost of
a dedicated TDM line. The RS-160 is designed for rapid integration into any
networking or telephony-switching device, optimizing it for the broadband
access market.
Redux's CM-160, can be used for evaluation of the RS-160 or as an ODM
system
allowing a rapid time-to-market solution for OEM's worldwide.
"As Ethernet based networks and services become a major trend in delivery
of
business applications, parallel delivery of legacy TDM voice and data
applications over the same infrastructure is key for smooth migration towards
the all Ethernet paradigm," said Daniel Manor, vice president of marketing for
Metalink. "The combination of Metalink's Ethernet over xDSL delivery platforms
and Redux's TDM over packet solution provide an ideal solution for system
vendors addressing this growing market."
"We are proud to demonstrate the first converged TDM and Ethernet over
G.SHDSL.bis solution, with Metalink" states Kobi Samboursky, vice president of
business development at Redux. "We believe that the simplicity of this joint
solution will provide OEM's world wide with a rapid and low investment
solution in a new breed of xDSL access devices that support both Ethernet and
legacy equipment."
