GRIDtoday TEAMS UP WITH NOBLEMEN
GROUP TO OFFER WEBCASTS
Tabor Communications, the publisher of GRIDtoday, has announced a
collaborative arrangement with The Noblemen Group, a boutique investment
banking and business development firm with a focus on the global electronics,
semiconductor and HPC markets, to host a series of Webcasts titled "The
Business of Grid," designed to explore the commercial business implications of
Grid computing.
"We are approaching the dawn of commercial Grid computing," said Mike
Bernhardt, executive vice president of The Noblemen Group, HPC and Grid
marketing consultant and program director for Grid Today 2004. "Grid computing
is undoubtedly beginning a migration from the scientific and technical
community, where it was spawned, to establishing a new paradigm in distributed
computing that will permeate corporate IT infrastructures while also creating
a new model for interactive or Internet-based computing."
Grid computing offers tremendous efficiencies, improved productivity and
reduced costs by enabling organizations to better utilize existing
computational resources. However, CIOs and other IT decision makers face the
daunting challenge of integrating computer hardware, middleware, and networks
as Grid computing standards are just starting to evolve.
Many analysts and business leaders worldwide believe Grid computing will
have
a profound effect on business productivity and will ultimately drive the
future of computing.
GRIDtoday, the Grid computing industry's publication of record, will offer
a
series of Webcasts, hosted by Bernhardt, focusing on Grid business strategies.
These Webcasts will be held in the months leading up to the first major
conference and exhibition focused on commercial and business Grid computing,
Grid Today 2004 (Gt04). Gt04 will be held May 24-26, 2004, in
Philadelphia.
Bernhardt will interview executives from the leading suppliers of Grid
computing technology, CIOs of leading organizations stepping up as early
adopters of Grid computing, and other industry experts as he attempts to sort
the myth from the reality in building a business case for Grid computing.
The "Business of Grid" Webcasts will kickoff in late November and will be
available only at www.gridtoday.com.
