Breaking News - Operating Systems
& Middleware:
OuterGrid Available, Based On OSGA
Standards
GridSystems has announced the release of OuterGrid, the first commercial
implementation of the new standard OGSA (Open Grid Services Architecture).
Based around GridSystems' award winning InnerGrid Nitya, OuterGrid allows
corporations to securely use and offer Grid Services. While InnerGrid Nitya is
specially suited for corporative intranets, OuterGrid is intended for
enabling, exploiting and extending Grid Services on the Internet.
OuterGrid allows to dynamically create a federation of Grids between
virtual
organizations. OuterGrid can integrate business processes from geographically
distributed business units in a company's organization, and also extend it to
processes from partners, suppliers or customers. With OuterGrid,
organizations can even offer and bill for their Grid Services on demand,
enabling a new era of utility computing.
OuterGrid attaches to the Grid standard OGSA, including built-in security
mechanisms that conform to Globus GSI. This warrants the interoperability and
compatibility of OuterGrid Grid Services with future Grid Services based on
other future implementations of OGSA.
