SIS Features Sun Solution At DFW Homeland Security Tech Expo

SIS Technologies, one of Sun Microsystems' iForce Partners, demonstrated Sun Ray technology at the Dallas-Fort Worth Homeland Security Alliance Technology Solutions Expo. Sun Ray, a Sun Microsystems product, features ultra-thin client technology that helps provide secure access to applications running on multiple platforms, including the Solaris Operating System, Java technology, other UNIX technology based platforms, Windows and mainframe environments.

The Expo was held Oct. 22, 2003 at the Eisemann Center in Richardson, Texas. SIS planned to present several Sun Microsystems technology solutions featuring Java Card technology, Trusted Solaris, disaster recovery and management solutions and an auto ID demonstration of security within an enterprise.

"With the advent of widespread computer attacks and viruses, the Sun Ray technology allows us to demonstrate the secure and flexible nature of this technology," said John Reed, COO of SIS Technologies. "In today's environment, we are acutely aware of the need for reliable security solutions. At SIS, we use this technology as a flexible tool that allows us to securely access information throughout our regional offices."

Keynote speakers were U.S. congressmen Jeb Hensarling, (R-TX) and Pete Sessions, (R-TX).

Participants of the expo included those with particular interests or investments in Homeland Security initiatives, such as government and city officials, military officers/consultants, corporate/industry managers, technology buyers/sellers and entrepreneurs.
