Breaking News - Security:

High Tower, Foundstone Announce Comprehensive Partnership

High Tower Software Inc, a provider of Security Event Management (SEM) solutions, announced its partnership with Foundstone Inc, experts in strategic security. High Tower and Foundstone will offer product interoperability to provide organizations with a practical and effective solution for protecting network-accessible assets in real time. In addition to the technical integration, the two companies will work together on sales and marketing activities.

Intrusion Detection Systems (IDSs), Firewalls, Authentication Servers, Routers and other devices create a constant stream of cryptic and seemingly unrelated data. The TowerView solution collects that network security device data, correlates it using High Tower's sophisticated rule set, and displays the results of the analysis in real time. By automating data analysis, TowerView reduces false positives, increases accuracy, reconstructs attacker footprints, and immediately identifies threats to allow action in real-time, before assets are compromised. The ability of TowerView to integrate the Foundstone vulnerability assessment data greatly enhances the visibility of events that impact network security.

How Foundstone Enterprise Risk Solutions (ERS) And High Tower Work Together

Foundstone ERS probes configured network(s) for vulnerabilities. This vulnerability information in the Foundstone database is integrated into TowerView, and is then used to correlate events from Intrusion Detection devices. For example, if Foundstone discovers a known exploit on a host and an IDS reports a detected exploit to that host, TowerView will raise a critical alert. This alert will indicate that the target host is vulnerable to this type of detected attack. Pulling Foundstone's vulnerability assessment data into the TowerView patented analytical engine for analysis provides better insight into the security status by highlighting data and interrelationships that are actually meaningful. TowerView will also suppress IDS-detected events that do not apply to the destination host.

"The partnership with High Tower enables both our companies to offer a broader security technology solution to our respective customers," said Chris Kenworthy, Foundstone's executive vice president of Sales and Business Development. "Foundstone customers can benefit from the intelligence of TowerView's correlation rules and the intuitive nature of its results, which are presented in 3D."

"False positives are a common pain point," noted Raj Patel, vice president of engineering for High Tower. "Integrating Foundstone's vulnerability assessment data into TowerView means far less false positives for our customers, and ensures that alerts really are significant and meaningful."

High Tower and Foundstone have joined together to utilize the strengths of their security solutions in a synergistic way. The result is a more complete security solution, one that optimizes system strengths to create a secure network for the enterprise.
