RLX Delivers Next Generation IT Infrastructure

RLX Technologies Inc, a leader in modular computing, announced the introduction of new modular management, compute and network products. These introductions deliver new value through the delivery of "single console" systems management for heterogeneous blade- and 1U-based environments, broaden the RLX BladeServer product line, and bring new network connectivity options. Together, these new products further complete the RLX ActivIT solution offering to drive out IT cost and complexity while delivering the best price/performance, flexibility, responsiveness and management for today's high-performance enterprise and research needs.

"These introductions demonstrate RLX's thought, product, and solution leadership. While others talk about autonomic or adaptive computing, RLX delivers them today," stated Doug Erwin, chairman and president of RLX Technologies. "Again, RLX drives IT cost and complexity out while driving up utilization and value better than any other modular solutions company in the industry."

RLX ActivIT solutions can deliver up to a 40 percent reduction in annual operating costs through up to a 10-to-1 reduction in labor cost and up to a 13-to-1 reduction in implementation and deployment time -- all of which allow IT to deliver new value to the enterprise.

RLX ControlTower XT

RLX announced the introduction of RLX ControlTower XT, version 2.0. An industry first, RLX retains its lead by delivering fully integrated 'single console' management of multi-vendor blade-based compute, storage and network environments. Now enterprises can lower their costs by using a single tool to monitor, alert, provision and manage their heterogeneous blade systems.

ControlTower XT version 2.0 also manages 1U environments. Through exploitation of industry standards like SNMP and PXE, RLX proves its leadership by delivering "single console" management of heterogeneous blade- and 1U-based environments. ControlTower XT pricing starts at $2429 plus $149 per managed node.

RLX announced the availability of RLX HPC Cluster Manager, version 1.1. This exciting introduction brings "single-click" cluster virtualization, reprovisioning, and workload management for increased resource utilization and optimization. HPC Cluster Manager quickly and efficiently drives down the cost of cluster management while increasing return on compute investment. The RLX HPC Cluster Manager starts at $2499 plus $249 per managed node.

RLX RackModule

As the leading modular computing company, RLX introduces the RLX RackModule product family. These fully managed 1U, high-performance servers expand the RLX compute and storage offering without compromise. Single- and dual-processor Intel Xeon-based, with IDE and SCSI drive and broad network options, the RackModule is the perfect choice for any datacenter. As fully integrated and participating members of the RLX product family, these 1U servers are fully manageable by RLX ControlTower XT, version 2.0. Together, your organization now has the best price/performance, management, greater integration and configuration choice for your datacenter application or workload needs. The RLX RackModule family starts at $1789.

RLX ServerBlade

These announcements broaden the RLX ServerBlade product family to now feature the best priced and most powerful blade computing in the industry. RLX introduces the ServerBlade 2600ie and 2800ie models, Xeon-based blades with 2.6GHz and 2.8GHz processors -- starting at $1649. For blazing performance, the RLX ServerBlade 3000ix, dual-Xeon 3.06GHz processors with a 533MHz front-side bus and a one-megabyte level three cache starting at $4799. When added to the existing RLX ServerBlade products, RLX now offers nine processor speeds and models in single- and dual-processor configurations, starting as low as $949, offering compute densities from 140 to 336 processors per 42U rack.

RLX also introduced the RLX Dual 600ex Gigabit Ethernet Switch. This integrated, 24-port network switch easily integrates into the RLX 600ex chassis at a low per port price. Like all RLX products, the Dual 600ex Gigabit Ethernet Switch is fully managed by RLX ControlTower XT. Pricing is $3599.

To round out the new ServerBlade options, RLX is introducing a FibreChannel HBA. This allows for direct attach of the RLX ServerBlades to high-performance, external fibre attached storage. Delivered through a partnership with QLogic, RLX delivers this new option at $999. RLX also has available a fibre-channel pass-through option for $2199.
