GRID DELIVERY ENABLES FULL-SCREEN
VIDEO ON DEMAND W/O UPGRADE
Kontiki announced the global deployment of its business video on demand
solution at Ernst & Young, one of the world's largest professional services
firms. Ernst & Young is using full screen business video on demand to improve
the effectiveness of communication and training to all employees around the
globe. Kontiki's end-to-end solution is comprised of the recently released
Delivery Management System 3.0 and Business Media Services.
"Ernst & Young is a global leader in professional services and we are
pleased
with their decision to use business video on demand to communicate with
employees, partners and customers," said Mike Homer, Kontiki's chairman and
CEO. "Kontiki is dedicated to providing a complete and compelling
communications solution for Ernst & Young that increases their business
effectiveness while reducing costs."
Ernst & Young needed a business video solution that could be deployed
cost-effectively on its existing network. Additionally, Ernst & Young needed a
solution that would enable video to be broadcast to all employees or
"narrowcasted" to specific groups. One reason Ernst & Young chose Kontiki is
because its Grid delivery technology efficiently utilizes normally idle PC and
server resources so that full screen video can be delivered with no upgrades
to network bandwidth and hardware. Kontiki's Web Service integration with
Ernst & Young's existing directory system enables the secure narrowcasting of
video to specific groups.
As part of the complete video solution, Kontiki provided Business Media
Services such as guidance on how to best create business video in-house using
low cost self-service studios and standard desktop creation tools. Also, by
using measurement features built into Kontiki, managers at Ernst & Young are
able to analyze the business effectiveness of video communications and ensure
that these communications improve over time.
