Networking:
Cutting Edge VPN Feature Added To
Xavi'S X7000 ADSL Routers
XAVi announced that ADSL Ethernet Router now includes an advanced, built-in
Virtual Private Network (VPN) feature. A VPN is a private connection between
two machines or networks over a shared public network. In other words, with
high security level, VPNs allow organizations to expand their network services
over the Internet to remote users, branch offices and partner companies. It
will allow businesses to implement remote access via the Internet, and deliver
compelling benefits for businesses to reduce costs, work smarter and gain
competitive advantages.
The benefits of having VPN feature in the ADSL routers:
- It offers the security level of a dedicated private network while using
the
public Internet to interconnect distant offices, business partners and remote
users.
- Employees can connect remotely to the company's network via their ISP, by
dial up, cable, DSL, ISDN or wireless.
- It provides authentication, confidentiality, and integrity of the
company's
data by creating a virtual "tunnel" through the Internet.
With the increasing hacker attack, XAVi provides the first line protecting.
In
addition to the advanced security, VPN feature also reduce the construction
fees on the leased lines and long distance charges on dial up modems or ISDN
calls between distant sites; instead, users and and systems connect locally to
their ISP to access their company's network through a virtual tunnel.
