Citrix Selects NetQoS To Optimize
Net. App. Performance
NetQoS Inc, a provider of network performance products and services,
announced
it is providing the company's premier performance evaluation and monitoring
offering, called Advisory Services, to Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.-based software
company Citrix Systems Inc.
NetQoS' Advisory Service is a monthly service designed to help companies
optimize network application performance. The Advisory Service is based on the
capabilities of NetQoS' products, ReporterAnalyzer and SuperAgent.
ReporterAnalyzer analyzes and reports on detailed network traffic statistics
by gathering information from Cisco's NetFlow. SuperAgent, an application
response time analyzer, quickly tracks and measures end-user response time --
without desktop or server agents. It separates response time into application,
network and server delay components, enabling rapid troubleshooting of
application performance bottlenecks. Advisory Service supplements in-house IT
teams with experienced NetQoS engineers, who analyze trends and offer timely,
practical recommendations on ways to improve network performance.
"We chose NetQoS' Advisory Services because it is so closely aligned with
our
own IT strategy -- namely that it provides an expert service based on solid
analysis of data," said Karen Kowalski, senior director for IT infrastructure
services at Citrix. "NetQoS gives us the ability to proactively plan in order
to anticipate issues before they affect our business. It also allows us to
troubleshoot our extensive data center operations by giving us accurate
information necessary for pinpointing issues quickly."
"With NetQoS, we are now able to base conclusions on real end-user
transaction
times, not simulated data -- something we have never done before - - which
gives us the ability to validate the decisions and investments we make in our
ongoing effort to improve overall system and application performance,"
Kowalski continued. "Working closely with NetQoS engineers, we have been able
to measure and validate success for some important initiatives undertaken in
the last year -- including a major upgrade to our global network
infrastructure. During these exercises, we felt strongly that the NetQoS team
was an extension of our own staff."
"We are seeing more of our customers select the Advisory Service in
addition
to our products. Enterprises like both the pricing flexibility as well as
having access to our highly skilled performance engineers whenever they are
needed," said Joel Trammell, chief executive officer of NetQoS. "Customers who
purchase Advisory Service are provided with regular feedback and
recommendations on resource optimization, capacity planning and improving the
end user experience -- all of which can significantly improve the value they
derive from our products."
